Artist’s statement:
The concept in my work is directly related to the philosophy of modern existentialism. The central figure of my photo essays is frequently the human being, revealing its fragile nature in an environment of formative values. My photos, small pieces of a permanent on-going process which is not intent on ending at any given time, reflect on the issue of individual freedom in a sometimes religious, sometimes non-religious socio-cultural environment. The open character of the photographs is my invitation to enter the world of „drawing with light“ in the true sense of the term photo-graphy. It is not about „capture“ of images, or any attempt to „arrest“ the subject. Quite on the contrary, it is rather about a „possibility“ for images, in fact primarily the courage to convey an impression, which can then be led further by the observer himself. With regard to the series „Memoria Activa“, available on this plattform, the photographical proposition goes beyond the mere effect of multiple exposures.
